Testimonials
"Dr. Eckstein is the course director of our medical ethics class; he also teaches medical psychology. His extensive publication history is a valuable asset to our academic community. Dr. Eckstein brings a wealth of hospital related experience to our Medical University. He has completed a yearlong post-doctoral internship in psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) with a physician. Hospital staff appointments include cardio-rehabilitation at St. Luke's Hospital in Phoenix, counseling psychology at Scottsdale Camelback Hospital, and family medicine at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Eckstein was also the first psychologist to have hospital privileges at the Maui Memorial Hospital in Hawaii. He had three years of private practice there where he specialized in worker compensation injury related to pain management, and depression.
Here on the Caribbean island of Saba, Dr. Eckstein counsels not only our medical students, but also works as part of a treatment team at our local hospital. I appreciate that he volunteers his time for those who cannot afford counseling services."

"I have known Daniel Eckstein for the past nine years. He was originally a faculty member in the industrial-organizational psychology program at Capella University in which I was the Department Chair. During that time, I appreciated both his on-line caring for students plus his outstanding presentation skills at our colloquium. In addition to his own workshops on group design and presentation skills, he was a guest lecturer in my research seminars where he presented his own published research and encouraged students to become scholar practitioners in their own right. He presented his design of a statistical decision tree which has been helpful to graduate students and faculty mentors to determine the best statistical procedure for a research question.
In addition to his past 36 years of post-doctoral university experience, Dr. Eckstein has the ability to integrate counseling, clinical, and organization develoment theory and practice into a combined skill-set. His experience as a senior consultant with University Associates, and his post-doctoral training in coaching with the Adler School of Toronto, is a tribute to his competence both as a professional coach, consultant, and clinician."

"Daniel Eckstein excels in graduate level teaching and supervision. He is perhaps one of the brightest and most creative individuals with whom I have associated in the past 30 years in the field. He is an educator in the deepest sense of the word -- he mentors the intellect and spirit of his students.
Daniel exemplifies the highest commitment and the best learning practices in the field of psychology, education, and consulting. He is an adventurous, innovative, and creative man and students report that their experience with him is the highlight of their education."

"I have known Daniel Eckstein for over ten years now. For two years, I was his supervisor in his capacity as an adjunct faculty member in the counseling psychology specialization at Capella University. His teaching medical students and also serving as an adjunct for us in the counseling program at Capella is a nice extension to his community mental health experiences. His experience as a CACREP on-site program evaluator is also a major asset for our program.
In addition, Daniel is a master teacher. He captivates his students with his stories, examples, theoretical and historic knowledge, and his clear emotional involvement with his subject matter. His lecturing skills are so strong that he has often been invited to be a keynote speaker. He has been active in our field as a national and international consultant and has worked closely with several very famous people including Albert Ellis, Jeffery Zeig, Jean Houston, and Pat Love. He has even had an audience with the Dali Lama."

"Daniel has been a valuable resource to me in my own efforts to improve relations between the U.S. and Japan. It seems that frustrations and mental tensions between America and Japan are somehow increasing due to recent economic and political conflicts such as the trade imbalance. I feel his book 'Theory and Practice of Life-style Assessment' and workshops can give us some insights and clues to resolve the human issues existing between us, and therefore to help lead our earth to more peace."

"As his former supervisor at the University of Texas of the Permian Basic, Dr. Eckstein and I had a close working relationship during the year June, 2005 to June, 2006. Dan was very helpful to me in our efforts to continue a very active community training institute, the West Texas Institute for Adlerian Studies. When our University gym was opened for survivors of Hurricane Ike, he was very active in working with the Red Cross in coordinating volunteer efforts not only by our graduate students but also other universities and community mental health agencies. He also was a volunteer counselor to families who had lost both their homes and loved ones in that tragedy.
Dan is a past president of the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology and holds the Diplomate in the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology. He is a passionate and conscientious teacher who stresses experiential learning in his classes."
